This book made me feel as though I was sitting down with the author, listening to her story. It was well written, moving, and inspiring. The author speaks of how you never get past this kind of loss, but you can move through life with a determination and commitment to try and encourage a way to avoid it from happening to others. It brought out so many emotions. Amazing.
Kimberly did a phenomenal job detailing her sons journey as well as the stages of grief and how to overcome it. My hope is for everyone to gain a better understanding of mental illness and to break the stigmas associated with it after reading this book. I definitely recommend this book to everyone especially if you ever lost a love one to suicide or experienced depression.
Beautifully written!! As someone who has struggled with mental illness for most of my life, I truly felt a connection to the writer. If you or someone you know struggles with grief or mental illness, this book will uplift your spirit and TRULY make you feel heard and understood! 5 stars from me, over and over again! Absolutely love it!
I loved how close I felt to Maxie in this book. He was a good friend of mine starting from 14 years of age and that friendship lasted until adulthood. This book helped me to overcome my own challenges that we both share. I loved the scripture and his own thoughts in the book as well.
This book is/would be/will be a great resource for help in understanding and knowledge of how important mental health Really is.
Also how processing grief is very different for everyone and that is ok.
Thank you Ms Kim for sharing your story and your heart!
Much love!!
Kim, thank you so much for sending your new book Forever 29 and signing it for me. I finished reading it in one setting. I couldn’t put it down! It was awesome!!! Thank you so much for sharing and for caring.
Kim as I read your book it made me think of the scripture St Johns 9:1-3 "Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him."
I can’t say that I understand all of God’s plans for us but I do believe with all my heart Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Kim continued to glorify God as he continued to bless you! Love you Letitia
I enjoyed reading ForEver Twenty-Nine because it gave me the chance to dive into the life of a talented young man who served his country, traveled the world, and had more skills than most. I could see him through the eyes of his mother, while also hearing his voice through his own writings that were put into the book. It expanded my understanding of the struggles people may face and the importance of our mental health.
Author writes this book to reach those who may be suffering from mental illness and even those who may know someone experiencing mental illness. She provides insight from her very own testimony, letters from her son and the Word of God in order to help provide healing!
